Two Proofs of Ihara's Theorem
نویسنده
چکیده
We give two proofs that, for a nite regular graph, the reciprocal of Ihara's zeta function can be expressed as a simple polynomial times a determinant involving the adjacency matrix of the graph. The rst proof is based on representing radial symmetric eigenfunctions on regular trees in terms of certain polynomials. The second proof is a consequence of the fact that the resolvent of the adjacency operator on regular trees is exponential.

Several Proofs of Ihara's Theorem
We give three proofs that the reciprocal of Ihara's zeta function can be expressed as a simple polynomial times a determinant involving the adjacency matrix of the graph. The rst proof, for regular graphs, is based on representing radial symmetric eigenfunctions on regular trees in terms of certain polynomials. The second proof, also for regular graphs, is a consequence of the fact that the res...
متن کاملA Note on the Comparisons among Coherent Systems
Using the concept of system signature introduced by Samaniego (1985), Kochar et al. (1999) compared the lifetimes of the systems in which the lifetimes of the components are independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.) random variables. Their results are extended to the systems with exchangeable components by Navarro et al. (2005). This paper gives some alternative proofs to obtain th...

متن کاملArrow and Gibbard-Satterthwaite
This article formalizes two proofs of Arrow’s impossibility theorem due to Geanakoplos and derives the Gibbard-Satterthwaite theorem as a corollary. One formalization is based on utility functions, the other one on strict partial orders. For an article about these proofs see http://www.in.tum.de/∼nipkow/pubs/
متن کاملKochen–Specker Theorem: Two Geometric Proofs
We present two geometric proofs for KochenSpecker’s theorem [S. Kochen, E. P. Specker: The problem of hidden variables in quantum mechanics, J. Math. Mech. 17 (1967), 5987]. A quite similar argument has been used by Cooke, Keane, Moran [R. Cooke, M. Keane, W. Moran: An elementary proof of Gleason’s theorem, Math. Proc. Camb. Phil. Soc. 98 (1985), 117128], and by Kalmbach in her book to derive G...
